    Introducing my newest addition.
I have wanted to add a large snake to my collection for some time. I was torn between a blood python and a red tail boa. Well after much research and so friends giving me a push or two I decided to pick up a beautiful female Coral Albino Boa. I bought her off of BHB about 3 weeks ago and she is settling in great. Boa's are just so much different than bp's. I still love my bp's, but I know that I will be getting another boa or 2 down the road. I took a few pic's of my new girl tonight and wanted to show her to everyone. Thanks for looking.
When I first brought her home...

She shed a few days ago, and her color changed completely. Brian had told me that she would because the bedding that he was using with his boa's stained them if it got to wet.... I like her color before. Now I love it.

you say red tails are a lot different from Balls. I mean, obviously it's like at least 3 times the amount of snake. But what kind of personality differences are there?

My boa doesn't curl up in a ball and hide.... She comes towards me.... She is a lot more curious than my bp's. She seems to like to explore. She doesn't seem to stress out as easy either.... So far I think she is just great.....:D

AWESOME pick up!! What a beauty!

Boy, we're all jumping on the boa band wagon, lol.... Seriously, she's gorgeous. Congrats!

I, too, have seen a big difference between my boa and ball. Ella is always hiding. I don't mind 'cause that's what she's supposed to do, but it is great seeing my baby boa poking around her enclosure and she will also come towards me when I open it. She is very relaxed in my hands and seems to truly enjoy being held. And they feel completely different in your hands. Boas really wrap and hold on to you. They use their bodies more efficiently which makes sense as they are more arboreal than balls.

Boas also seem to make eye contact with you. It's somewhat unnerving. Peaches will rise up and look me straight in the eye as if sizing me up. Then she tries to climb up to the top of my head... :D

That's been my experience so far too, they are very curious and don't mind getting in your face. Wait until you feed her for the first time. I accidentally scared mine when I tried to feed her last night and she then spent 15-20 minutes hissing at me with her mouth open. :P
