What Kind of Music do You like?
I for one am very fond of System of a Down. Just love all of their songs. Also AC/DC, Metalica, sum 41, the beatles, pretty much everything except rap and country. I absolutley hate country, yet I live in Texas.

    You?

I'm sooo tired of rap and hip hop. I'm a rock girl all the way. Seether, Godsmack, ACDC, Ozzy, NIN, tool. Love it all

I'm not too picky when it comes to music, as long as it's not country.
I absolutely love System of a Down, they're coming to SoCal in the next month or so and I'd kill to see them. :( I also love Tool, Korn, Incubus, Disturbed, Godsmack, the list goes on and on..

I can't tell you how much I hate country. It's SO ANNOYING. The freaking songs are always about tractors, honkey tonks (what the HELL is a honky tonk anyway?!) beer, and a bunch of other stupid crap. I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT.

    Hip Hop

Mainly Canibus. his lyrics arent about money, cars and women. Instead he uses multi-syllable words and insane metaphors to portray a picture of the story he is telling (to people who can actually understand him..)

for example. Canibus raps about things that you wouldn't even believe existed. Thats because he talks about real issues, while other rap artists are just putting out a bunch of crap

    Lyrical example:

"Ooh how I miss my nautilus
i was told faren goat and mcdotilus did not exist
you have a modest case of scaphocephalous
I prescribe some neo gothic anti-biotics"

And THATS what seperates my "rap/hip-hop" from others :)

Actually, they're not. While beer & honkey tonks (i.e. a country bar) do arise as frequent subjects of country songs, that's not what they're limited to along with tractors. I'd venture to say that most country songs, especially the newer stuff, are about every day people dealing with everyday situations that come up in every day life. Or as it's often put, "country music is three chords and real life." :)

Just to clear up any misconceptions...you know, since you don't actually listen to it. ;)

In addition to country, my tastes include everything except hard-core rap & extreme heavy metal (anything ridiculously obscene or blasphemous is a HUGE turnoff).

My iPod has a mix of everything from Beethoven to Garth Brooks, Miles Davis to Leonard Cohen, Tori Amos to Sepultura, and just about everything in between. Country, blues, metal, jazz, showtunes, gospel, folk, techno, R&B, classic rock, celtic music, Spanish guitar, good ol' rock & roll, bluegrass, big band....it just goes on & on. We'd be here all day if I tried to list them all...the soundtrack of my life is together eclectic & colorful. ;)

I'll pass rap, hip hop, all that pop stuff....and others like that. Also can't stand almost all of the crap that's out on the radio.
I do love metal (most kinds), rock, swing, 40s, 50s, 60s, big band, rockabilly, psychobilly....I'm sure I could keep going on forever. I really love music.
And I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Slayer yet!!

I like it all. Even country and classical, it depends on my mood.
