BP Not Excreting

Hello,

My 3 year old female BP is not excreting. It's been about two months, when it is usually once a month. Her tail is noticeably larger than usual, although it's not any bigger than any more forward part of her body. I've just never seen her so ready to go and she doesn't go.

There isn't any reddening or anything otherwise abnormal looking in the exit scale area. Her behavior seems to get more aggressive as time goes on, as if she is irritated by this. It's at the point that I would be uncomfortable giving her food until she goes.

Any ideas out there? Should I hold off on feeding?

Is she not passing anything at all, or just not defecating?

She is not passing anything at all.

Fill the bath tub with 1-2 inches of tepid water (water that is neither warm nor cold to the touch) and let her go for a little swim. The combination of activity and water is very likely to help stimulate her to let go. :)

Hmmm... two months seems like a long time to not even pass urate/urine. Dehydration comes to mind, but I'm not experience enough to give advice on something that could potentially be serious, I'd love to get some of the experienced keepers in this thread.

soaking usually works for me. well not for ME but for snakes and turtles that havent taken a poo in a while.

I had her out for about a half hour. Near the end of that time I smelled something nasty, but she didn't actually go. Maybe she's getting closer. I will try soaking in tepid water next time :)

Warm water always seems to be the trick here. I sometimes put snake is a covered container with shed-ease (SUPERVISE). I don't know what is ...probably a combo of the water water and the activity of them searching for a way to get out...it always does the trick...

I took her out tonight, stuck her in a bin with tepid water. After about 10 minutes, I noticed she started to panic a bit including trying to get "out" by going to the bottom corners, underwater. At that point I took her out.

Just before I got her out, I noticed her tail was pointed way up, and left her tail in the bin, and she went. Talk about easy cleanup!

After this, she seemed MUCH happier (who wouldn't be) and rubbed her snout against my nose several times. That's how I believe she shows appreciation, as it's far from the first time. I also get that after doing assisted sheds.
