    Hard time deciding
Next month, I will be getting either a colombian red tail boa or ball python. I've done hours of research on red tails as well. I've owned a ball python in the past but I can't decide if I want another one or not. Space isn't an issue so getting a red tail boa wouldn't be a problem. I hear lots of good things about red tails as well and I love that most of them can be handled frequently. I love ball pythons as well but their tendency to not eat makes me want one much less. I like the fact they stay smaller and don't have to be fed large prey such as rabbits. I know which ever one I choose to get is really up to me but I need a little help deciding.

I am partial to Ball Pythons. ;)
You can't go wrong with a gorgeous, little python. Not to mention the seemingly endless different morphs to choose from. I'm at two until I move out of state next month.. then the collecting really begins!

Whatever you choose, share pictures! :)

I just got my RTB on Wednesday and I'm already very much in love with her. She's rarely hiding, and in fact her new favorite spot happens to be on top of the branch type thing I put in her cage which is just so cute. She's also a real spit fire (I personally think she's still super pissed about being shipped). If I even so much as stop to look at her she gets ready to bite me. :P

That being said, I love my BPs also. I love all the different color/pattern mutations. I also like how most of them are pretty docile. All of my snakes are amazing, and I haven't yet had a problem with them going off of feed, but I know it happens.

What it really comes down to is what you are looking for in your snake, but keep in mind that every snake is different. If you have room and money I think you should go for both because they offer such different experiences. :P

I have both ball pythons and also a red tail boa. I really love my bp's. The different colors and easy of handling make them great to keep. The Boa is awesome also. I love that she doesn't hid all day, and never even thinks of missing a meal. My boa behaves a lot different than a bp, and it has taken me a little while to get use to that. She doesn't ball up and sit there. She come to you.

I really like them both, and you won't go wrong with either one...

Thanks for the input everyone :) . I've decided I am going to get a male colombian red tail boa since they don't get as large as females. I love ball pythons, but boas have definitely won my heart. I've become a member on redtailboa.net and I'm sure I will learn a lot from the boa keepers there. Thanks again guys :)
