    I don't know why I bother giving my snakes hides...
    75% of my snakes won't use their hides... if they have paper they go under the paper, if they have actual substrate like Cypress Mulch or Aspen they just tunnel into it. I swear I have have a bunch of sand boas in disguise. :rolleyes:

    My male normal bp likes to burrow in the cypress mulch most of the time and I have a hide in the tub for him. When I used to use newspaper he just hid under that too!

    I have a few that do the same thing..... Every so often they surprise me though, and use their hides.....lol

    I have a wooden enclosure (so no belly heat) on the cold side I have aspen piled pretty hight. My male likes to burrow in the aspen and completely ignores the hide. When I go to clean I always enjoy seeing the intricate tunnels he builds at night. He's an odd duck.
