    24x18x18 enclosure for BP
    Hello,

    Please provide feedback on the caging I will be using;

    I ordered a new enclosure for my Python last week, which measures at 24x18x18, larger in volume than her previous tank, however shorter in length.

    Based on what I've read on the forum, most users have a 30x12x12 arrangement, however I thought a volume upgrade would be helpful.

    Are there any risks to using a tank with a larger volume and shorter length? My snake usually just stays in her den anyway.

    I have been told she will outgrow either tank, so one I will use for feeding her in, one for her habitat.

    Thank you,

    Pyth

    volume does not matter that much with ball pythons over all floor space can become a problem over time

    I would choose floor space over height. They don't need to climb, and will be sleeping most of the time anyway. Mine adults are kept in tubs that are probably 36" X 24" X 6". But you don't want that much floor space for a baby, a 10 gallon tank should do, or a 6-12 qt tub. :)

    They will climb if given the option, but I think it's more of a plan to escape, and most fall. Lol. I guess they are missing their hanging on muscles.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the replies; the cage came broken in the mail so I will merely get a refund since volume is not important.

    She's currently about 32" long, living in a 30x12x12, which is where I'll keep her until she needs a longer tank.
