Am I to understand that someone gave you an animal to take care of free of charge and you sold it for a profit???

Do you see the moral dilemma behind that at all?

That is not something you should be proud of, or that you should have ever done. If you couldn't take care of the animal, you shouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

There are plenty of other people out there that could have been very happy and blessed with a new family pet Beardie, and you took that chance away from them for a couple of bucks.

    ..sigh...

You need to reevaluate your moral compass.

Morality issues of accepting money aside, I'm glad you aren't going to carry out a long term lie against your parents. :)

Yeah...because successful short-term lies are so much more character building?

I didn't say that. I would rather have had the person realize early that it was a mistake and back out then have actually attempted to cover up having the lizard.

Everyone was saying in the original thread that he wouldn't listen to anyone so why bother asking for advice? They did realize that what they were doing was wrong though and changed the plan. A small win is better than none at all I say.

Why didn't you just take it in and try to find someone who actually wanted it....And then give it to them free of charge?

You are not the only person in the world. You could have let her find someone else.

Or you could have taken it in and given it away.

That story isn't going to fly, no matter how many emoticons you put up or how many capital letters you post.

first let me say that i am not condoning this at all.

he's a kid. what he did was shady. lying and being proud of it are not good qualities in a person. but i look at it this way. i know im going to get ripped by some people but what ever.

he did what a lot of people here do. he "flipped" a reptile. he probably saved that lizards life. i doubt this obvious lack of good judgement is going to hurt anyone or lead this kid into a life of lies and crime. maybe this forum can help lead him from the "dark side".

bottom line is the lizard is most likely in a good home with someone who will love and care for him.
