    Hi everyone!
I'd like to introduce myself, after a few days of lurking around here. You guys have a great forum, and I'd like to be a part of it.

    Hi, I'm Claire. :D

about 4-5 months ago I got it into my head that I needed a tarantula. We have wonderful, knowledgeable locally owned petstore that has their own breeding facility/program, and, well, when I went into look for tarantulas, I fell in love with the ball's. I was not set up, though, and I realized that I needed to know a lot. (I've since realized I don't need a tarantula!:P)

(I understand the petstore hate. with Petco or PetSmart, you don't know what you're getting. However, believe me when I tell you, these guys know what they're doing, and I can sleep at night buying from them.)

I wasn't planning on getting one for another 6 months, but a couple months later there was a great sale...and I fell in love with Axel. (Before I purchased him, I would take trips there just to hold the balls...I needed to get my 'fix'

I'm a noob, but I've educated myself so much, and I know I want balls to be a big part of my life. I want to educate people on how to properly care for them, most of all. Had I not done so much research, I would be just another dead/sickly ball statistic.

In the years to come, I really want to get into a little bit of hobby breeding and playing with genetics. Till then, I'm just a happy snake mommy who is SO happy she took the time to do the research!! I'm definitely no expert (I've owned Axel for what...2 weeks? LOL I'm still a little lost.) but I really hope I can help someone new around here, and learn from the pros!!

    :P

    Nice ta meetcha!

Welcome to the addiction. :) Glad to hear you're so enthusiastic about educating others on proper care. We need more people like you and less BPs needing "rescue". :gj:

Welcome. You came to the right place.

I am very luck to have my best friend own his own pet shop. Its clean, he features his own animals, and knows his stuff. Wish all places were like his.

I hope to see pictures soon:D
