Can insects do anything to balls
I open the tub today and found an earwig roaming around. I killed the bug but I'm now wondering. Can insects, spiders, etc hurt or do anything to balls?

I don't know if earwigs are dangerous or not, but I would assume that spiders, ants and the other biting stinging insects can pose a threat to balls. They may not be able to kill a BP (unless it's something like army ants) but they could bite and sting and life miserable for the poor thing.

How did an earwig get in there anyways? Aren't they fairly large?

I've never heard of any non-parasitic insects being harmful. Have no scientific evidence, but if it were me, I wouldn't be overly concerned. So long as it's something I can remove and know it's gone. If there was some kind of infestation, I'd be a little more freaked out...but then again, I freak out about any sort of insect infestation in the home. :P

They're small, skinny little things that show up in the weirdest places. I could see one slipping through a screen top or through the gap between tub and rack very easily.

My rack is located in a room down stairs in the basement. Not even a mouse can go under the door because I had new carpet put in and I have to give the door a good push to open. Less likely a bug of any sort can get in or out unless it can find it's way through carpet or get through window screens and such. It was only one earwig and I checked my other racks and nothing no more bugs. I just freaked out and I took a look at my BP but he's chilling lol he seems fine. Looked like the earwig was looking for an exit.

Ugh, I hate earwigs. So ugly... and I always find them when I flip open the keypad thing for the garage. I wouldn't be surprised to find one in one of the snake tubs.
