UTH Removal?

I am currently housing Hera in a 55 gallon aquarium and it is working fine for the moment. I am a bit concerned that she might not have enough floor space to work with. The aquarium is taller than it is wide and I am looking to get a nice 40 gallon Zilla tank for her.

I have 2 Repti-Therm UTHs as part of her heating setup and I am wondering if I can remove and reuse them to save some cash. I know that they aren't that expensive but every bit helps ;)

Does anyone know if they even CAN be removed? I know the adhesive on them seems to be pretty strong and I would rather just buy new ones than risk her being on broken ones. I was just wondering if it could even be done.

It can be done. I've done it before, a long time ago when I first started keeping snakes. You just have to be careful not to bend the heating element too much when you remove it. After you get it off, test it to make sure that the entire pad still heats to the proper temps.

uhhh... 55 fallon for BP?? Is slight too much... for adult big female maybe... even 40 gallon breeder is a biiiig When i was living in Florida my 4 feet female was in 20 gallon long and that was perfect... If She is 4-5-6 feeter.. I still will go max 30 gallon breeder... it have same floor space as 40 but is 12 inch tall instead 16.
As of UHT if they are self adhesive ones there is always danger that when you try take them off you gonna break connection inside and break it.

If you Using tanks or even single tubs i recommend stuff RBI have on they web page: http://www.reptilebasics.com/ultratherm-heat-pads

You mount them with Duck tape and they are very safe(they go to max 95 degrees)

If You dont treat Your BP as display animal (they are secretive animals anyway) maybe You should consider Tub setup... 32qt is efficient for adult male 41 qt for big female

Well I do plan on breeding her at some point in the future (I want to produce an Axanthic Spider for myself) and I will get a rack system for that. I haven't decided if I will keep her in a tank or move her to the rack when breeding time comes. But I have time to work out those details.

The funny part is that we got her as not much older than a hatchling and that was the only tank that we had, so we put her in it and she did fine. The only issue we have ever had was she once escaped (but we found her the same day).
