Is this her pre-lay or her pre-ov shed?
My het pied female shed back in February, which I thought was her pre-ov shed because her normal shedding rhythm had stopped all season until then. We watched her carefully and didn't see any unusual fatness.

Now she's going into blue again, is looking abnormally fat, her spine is lumping up, she's all stiff and miserable.

What confuses me is that it looks as though she's ovulating right now, while in shed. Is that possible? I thought they shed normally, THEN went through the motions of ovulation. Was the shed in February just a regular shed cycle that had nothing to do with anything? Should I count this as the pre-ov or the pre-lay shed?

This is interesting.... Idk but will be keeping an eye on this thread for future reference.

But my thot is.... I really hear a lot of no such thing as pre ov shed.
    But I'm a newbe so.
I'm waiting on eggs this week:please:
But she shed last in jan and had her pre lay shed in the first week of april... and her buldge went down before shed so I don't think they will shed while in ovy.

I'm new to this but what i have read is that they can ovulate and then go blue usually 15 to 27 days after first shed so who knows they are animals and don't always stick to normal schedules good luck hope it helps
