Should I be worried?
I'm a new BP owner and have had him for about a month now. He's been eating well and seems adjusted to his new enclosure. My concern is that he has not gone to the bathroom yet.
He's 9 months old eating large mice every 5-6 days now and weighs around 300.
A month seems like a long time to me, is it normal to go this long? I gave him a soak tonight for about 20 minutes with 80 degree water thinking that may help if he's blocked up. He seemed fine with the bath but has yet to pass anything.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Common issue. :) Ive seen people mention theirs going six months without a poo. Has he shed with you yet? Mine normally goes when he sheds.

Mine typically only "go" about once a month, they both eat every 6 days and are perfectly healthy. BPs seem to hold it in for a while just to stress us out. Personally, I keep records of exact dates my BPs eat, shed, and poop. This way I can keep track of any behavior that might worry me. I wouldn't freak out just yet, though.

Re: Should I be worried?
Thanks for the replies, I'm not so worried now. I've been tracking his eating and weigh him monthly. He has not shed yet, so maybe that's when he'll go.
Thanks again.

At 300 grams he can easily start eating rat pups or weaned rats. I noticed mine started "going" more consistently once they started eating rats as opposed to mice. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or not.

I would say step up to rats as well.
Mine seem to hold it till they are about to pop, then they wait for water changing day and paint their bowls:mad::mad:

I picked up a bunch of f/t large mice when I purchased him and I'm trying to use them up before I switch over to rats. I have about 19 left. I've been increasing his feeding frequency to try to compensate.
I was feeding weekly and then went to every 6 days. I'll be going to every 5 days soon to see how that works.
Thanks again for the replies.

An adult mouse every 5 days sounds good, that's what I did when I bought mice with my first bp too.
