    What a disappointment!
I went to the Repticon show in Jacksonville today. What a disapointment! Nothing but overpriced very looking average snakes!

I hope it's not the same when it comes to Atlanta. It will be my first one so excited about it! I'm just not sure if I'm going to the one in July or Oct.

Repticon Atlanta is hit or miss. Sometimes there are some really amazing animals there.
The last two were not as exciting. Still some good animals, and good vendors, just not as much WOW. I think a lot of it has to do with vendors selling out before new stuff hatches, vendors getting put off by other vendors, or some Repticon policies (see below).

Overall I'm glad that a somewhat large show exists in the Atlanta area 2-3 times per year.
Though one thing about Repticon that I wish they would change, is that they allow customers to bring in their own animals.

Do they ever have fairly reasonably priced snakes at these shows? I'm a novice keeper and seriously doubt I'll ever get into breeding-I just enjoy them. I'm hoping to stay within a $200-$500 range on one if possible. I've never been to a reptile show so I wasn't sure.

There is plenty within that range. What are you looking for specifically?

Not sure yet-I really just wanted to look and see what all they have but didn't want to waste my time if they were mainly high priced breeder morphs, etc.

I have a Dumeril and a Spider BP now. I would love a pied BP but know it's out of my price range. I do want another BP but I also like BRB, Corns and Milksnakes. I still miss the Milksnake I had that escaped :(

The BP are mainly the ones I'm worried about being out of my price range. I'm still excited about going though, haha-think will be like a kid at Christmas looking into see thru presents :D

Don't worry, all of what you seek will be within that range (except pieds of course); and I have seen all of those there.

As I'm sure you're well aware, there are some really good guys in this business, but there are also some idiots, and some really shady 'fudgers'. Repticon is a mix of all of these folks, use your best judgement.
I'll be glad to point these out, off-list.

You might get lucky and find a male pied in your price range...its not been unheard of for them to dip down from some of the breeders not wanting to bring any animals home....
