open air cages..what's your opinion?
I am looking to just buy a cage instead of make one. What do you all think about mesh metal cages? I think they look neat but I am not so sure about them. I have to keep my snakes in the garage so how hard is it to regulate temps and humidity with a cage like that? And what would be your suggestions to keep regulate if you do have one?
TIA

snakes in the garage....sounds like a bad idea, what's the temps in the garage in winter ? you have BP's or ? even keeping a closed type of cage in proper temps and humidity in a garage may be impossible! please research this BEFORE you subject the animals to a environment that might harm them.

Thanks for the input, you all have made me feel good about my own opinion. I didn't think that they could stay in a mesh, but while I was looking online I kept finding "snake cages" that were made of that mesh and i was raising my eyebrows with concern. Just to calm some of ya'lls unease, our garage is insulated and stays around the same temp year round as we do not use it as a parking garage we use it as a work area. we even keep blankets around the door so no chance of air seeping through. It is a safe place for them to thrive. I will stick to my glass tanks!

Yep, as has been said, temps, humidity, and nose-rubbing are all problems with keeping snakes in screen cages.
And I know people who keep snakes in their garages, it's perfectly fine as long as temps stay controlled.
