Snake Underworld?

Anyone ever watch the show Snake Underworld. It was good in the begining explaining simple ball python morphs and then it went into Kerry Kings( gutairist for slayer) collection of carpet pythons which was cool because I didnt even know he kept reptiles. However the show got very negative very fast talking about burms atacking and killing people and then it got into keeping hots. I don't curently keep venomous but I thought they portrayed hot keepers very negativly and it got me really mad. The host of the show really seems to like snakes but I think he's a little misled about people in the reptile hobby. Oh and I never knew Tom Crutchfield was in jail for several years for being part of a smugling ring but then again all austrialian species we keep were smugled into the country at one point.

Anyway has anyone ever seen it, what did you guys think about the show?

I just finished watching it on natgeo. I found it very entertaining and informative.

I had no idea that venomous reptiles could be purchased at certain reptile shows.

One thing I didn't like about the show, was how the narrator would talk about the dangers of venomous snakes, and show ball pythons on the screen.

You should read the book "Stolen World," and "The Lizard King." The first one is about Crutchfield and Hank Molt and all exploits. The latter book is about Mike Van Nostrand (of Strictly Reptiles), and also discusses Crutchfield and Molt through out the book. They might be a little on the sensational story telling side, but good reads none the less.

I just watched it today. I liked it for the most part, but I HATED how they would talk about rattlesnakes being so dangerous, and show ball pythons, and other non venomous species on the screen. They also showed a puff adder.

I definatly am going have to read those. Heard about the Lizard King a while ago but never really knew which breeders where actully involved in the smuggling trade. It's intresting stuff when you think about it.

Yeah, I live in PA where there's practicly no regulations for any reptile, you just gotta trust that people do their reasearch, and get their venomous training. It is crazzy what you can get at the Hamburg PA show without so much as a permit if you are a resident of PA, but we seem to have no issues with that system so there is not much reason to further restrict things herp wise.

And yeah that was kinda stupid also when the guy said "and for the brave of heart a constricting python" and they showed a juvenile ball python.
