    Feeding schedule
How often would you guys recommend feeding a baby (80g or so) Colombian BCI? I've finally gotten him to keep down a mouse and would prefer not to feed him too soon and get another regurge. I keep receiving conflicting info that it should be every 5-7 days or every 10-14.

Soooo I ask you wonderful experienced keepers....what have you found to be the best feeding schedule?

I feed mine an adult mouse every 7 days, seems to be working out just fine for me. I'd imagine as they get older they do not need to eat as often. You also don't want to feed too often because then they will grow like monsters lol.

5-7 until its 2-3 years old, then 10-14 days after that.

Another thing, I'd never heard of this before but stay away from rat pups during the first 6 months. I was told they don't do well on rat pups the first 6 months... Just passing on info. :P Enjoy your new friend!

He's only eating mouse fuzzies at the moment. He took a hopper when I first got him, but returned it headless. x.x

As for enjoying...oh, I am. Im in love with this little guy. He's awesome!

Our baby boa is a couple months old and the first time we fed her, we gave her a rat pup. She downed it like she'd been doing it for decades! Why do they say to avoid rat pups, exactly?

The breeder I got my boa from said that most boa's don't do well on rat pups when they are little babies. He didn't really explain why and I was so excited about getting my lipstick sunglow that I didn't think anything of it until later.

I really should ask him one of these days.

I feed Powder a rat pup, 30 - 40 grams once every 8 days and she is an absolute monster for her age

Feed him a rat once every 7 days that weighs about 8 - 14 grams, and get him OFF mice. now. Get him on rats ASAP. trust me... your boa will be happier and healthier on rats and you wont have to switch him off rats for a few years
