    Bugs from the garden?
With spring finally here I was curious if I could spice up my beardie's meals with fresh picked bugs from the garden. Any thoughts on what is great and what to avoid.

You will want to avoid all bugs from unknown sources because you don't know if those bugs have ingested poison or pesticides or have any parasites--mites, bacteria, etc.

If you want to spice up his diet, roaches, crickets, superworms, hornworms and silkworms are all good I believe.

x2 Could cause more harm to your dragons than good...Order some hornworms for some nice spice to add to the diet...They're good for them and they're pretty blue in color...LOL

x3...no outside bugs....due to parasites and possible pesticide exsposure.

Like everyone has stated bugs from outside are a no no as you have no idea if they have ingested pesticides...

Also note fireflies will kill your dragon as well as hornworms/tobacco worms that have fed on tomato plants...Its funny the worms are ok if they are fed another diet but they become poisonous after feeding on tomato plants FYI...

Yea i kind figured you didn't want to feed them anything that was feeding on the nightshade family. I learned that fireflies are highly toxic to beardies with our very first one years ago....felt AWFUL.
