Enchi and Yellowbelly

I'm trying to learn how to shoot in RAW now so I wanted to see how I'd do with some challenging subjects. I think I've finally gotten that white background to look mostly white!! The pics lose a little something when I shrink them down in order to post them.

These two females are 2010 holdbacks that weren't supposed to be heldback, until I grew attached to them.

I love the pattern on the very first. I'm hoping to add one to my collection in the next few months.

Snakes are challenging just to get them still. At least mine are. I have friends who have snakes that I swear pose for them. What type of camera are you using? I've found that I like the work of the macro lenses but can't afford them. I've found some great filters that allow for great close up work for about $65.00. They really make the scales 'pop.' I'm still learning so haven't tried to do too much.

I'm using a Canon 40D with an Image Stabilizer lens. It's not a macro, though, and I don't know anything about filters. Sounds like I have more learning to do...
