soak in the water

HI everyone. I just fed one of my 900 gram female Thursday afternoon. Today when I opened her tub, she was soaking in her water bowl. What happened to her?

I checked the water to see if there is any mites there, but I saw nothing.

The hot side of the rube is 86, cold side is 80

Any ideas?

Well, usually they only soak if they're going into shed, or if they have mites. If it's neither one of those, it could be she just felt like soaking. Sometimes it can also be that they're trying to cool down, but from the temps you provided I wouldn't say that's the case either. My feeding day was yesterday, and a couple hours after I fed my bloodred corn he was soaking in his dish as well, and he had just shed the night before. Maybe sometimes they like to bathe after eating? haha :P I wouldn't worry too much, doesn't sound like anything too weird.

Couldn't have said it better myself. She just may just have felt like soaking. I wouldn't worry unless you see happening consistently.

Thanks guys. I forgot to say that she shed a week ago. So it can't be the case too. I will pay attention on her see what's going on.

My albino male used to swim in his water dish, before I moved him to a tub and gave him a smaller bowl. No mites and didn't seem to matter pre- or post-shed, he just liked to go for a "cruise" on occasion, lol! Like others have said, keep an eye on it and if you notice a pattern it might be cause for concern but otherwise I wouldn't stress it too much.

I'm no expert but In the wild some snakes soak themselves after a heavy meal to help their bodies cope with the weight of what they just took in. I wouldn't worry about it though ;)
