where's the crazy feeding stories thread?!
so my 10 month old mojo girl had her 1st feeding blooper today. sorry no pics.
anyways, she grabbed the LIVE small rat by the base of the tail and managed to coil it so fast it never got a chance to bite back. as she coiled it they ended up in the water dish where the rat was drowned in a quick minute...or 2.
as my girl proceeded to uncoil she dropped the rat into the water and spent the next 5 minutes "searching" for it before i finally pushed it out of the water dish for her but...she felt the rat's "movements" and apparently thought she hadnt killed so she coiled it again.
after giving the rat it's 2nd dose of death she spent 18 minutes searching for it's head again and then finally attempted to swallow it...front legs/chest first.
it took her 2 minutes to realize that wasnt gonna work and she spit it out only to do the searching thing again.
finally she found it's head and swallowed it down without any further incident.
i was sure this was gonna end up being a refusal when she gave up on the rat altogether but thankfully she figured it all out.
mind you, she's usually very good about taking the time to size up the rat and "pick" the spot she wants to hit and usually nails it dead on but today...
well, i just have no clue what happened today but now after this i'm starting to wonder...
could she be het for blonde?

Java has grabbed one by the spine before. He tried to cram it down his throat sideways for a good five minutes before giving up. I left him alone with it under a sheet, only to find him chewing on a back leg when I checked on him. :D

He did finally get it though. Hasn't refused a meal yet and takes frozen like a corn. :P coincidentally....of my three, only the corn has ever turned down a meal. XD
