Greetings from the Land of Cheese and Beer
Hey all! I'm a fairly new arrival to the world of ball pythons and reptiles in general, and with my recent acquisition I figured I'd best establish myself someplace where I can ask questions if necessary.

And I might as well get this one out there: I'm an associate at the apparently dreaded Petsmart =P Don't go too heavy on the pitchforks though. When I was first hired last summer, there was a guy there who was super passionate about herps, and while he did have a bit of an attitude that eventually lost him the job, I owe my current love for scalies entirely to him. I can proudly say that all the reptiles in our store are as happy and healthy as can be thanks to the knowledge he passed on to me and others, and most of us do our best to maintain that. Oddly, though I'm one of the newer people there, I seem to have become the go-to reptile person whenever someone's interested in one, haha. But I know my knowledge pales in comparison to that of many people here, and I'm incredibly thankful for this awesome resource. This job is also the reason I have my beloved Tambi; though I was never really afraid of snakes or anything before, it didn't take long for the little BPs at work to steal my heart. (Or the betta fish . . . but that's another obsession.)

Anywhoo! Besides all that, I'm currently in school for a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, since apparently I have a talent for ruining perfectly good pieces of canvas. Every now and then I do the writing thing as well. The parents and I also own three dogs and three cats, but those numbers spike dramatically with the animals we foster from a local animal shelter--though right now it's just one little not-quite-kitten.

Think that's about it for now; didn't mean to give you guys such an essay, haha. Not sure how much I'll actually be posting around here, but I'll for sure be lurking!

Land of beer and cheese? You must be in Wisconsin. Welcome to the forums!

Howdy! I'm just next door in Minnesota, and you'll find not only plenty of midwest herpers, but also quite a few in your very own Wisconsin as well. Have you ever been to the Wisconsin Reptile Expo (W.I.R.E) or SEWERFest? Two pretty good local reptile expos that I hit up sometimes, and are often worth the drive.

    Welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! No, I haven't been to the WIRE yet, mainly because one hasn't happened since I first really started liking herps. I am thinking about going to the one in May though.
