Will snakes eat hairless rat prey?

I got 5, 2 month old rats from a friend yesterday and they arent really hairless but they are double rexs. pretty much looks like a rex rat with mange.
But Ive heard before that snakes wont eat these guys because they can tell theres something not right about the thin hair and wont eat them.
I was planning on feeding off 4 and keeping one female as a breeder cuz they are so ugly that their cute. So I wanna know if it would be a good idea to keep a female as a breeder or not. Has anyone ever heard of this problem before?

I feed hairless, double rex, 5 legged, two tailed.... snakes don't care.

They'll eat them with no problem - but hairless rats are poor mom's. If you're breeding for productivity - pass on having a hairless as a mom.

Snakes aren't really visual creatures at all. They go mainly based off of smell, heat and general size of the prey. You should have no problems. :P

really? ive never heard of hairless in particular being poor moms.
Although these are double rex's not exactly hairless. Suppose you just had bad luck or is this a universal fact that they make poor moms?

Hairless make horrible moms. I usually foster the pups out.

True hairless moms don't do well, double rex moms do just fine.
I have fed hundreds of double rex's, snakes like them equally well, lol

Double rex usually do just fine as breeders or feeders. In my personal experience, most patchworks and all of the hairless females I have tried out as breeders are a no go. I either have had to keep an outstanding mommy rat with them or I have had to foster out the pups.
Basically, I have 2 hairless females that are nothing more than kind of neat, sitting in a breeding tub right now.
The het hairless female and male breeding groups (double rex) that I have are the ones that are successfully producing hairless pups for me though. That has been a very fun little project.
After three generations, I am finally producing blue, agouti, hooded and normal hairless dumbos. Very cute.

I've never bred hairless, because it's a universal fact that they are weak mothers - with weak litters. Don't know about double rex's though.

Double rex patchwork is just a hair trait, it doesn't have anything to do with how well they lactates and they do fine as moms.
