flexwatt tape problem...

Hi guys I built a rack and placed 1 11" heat tape on every shelf a total of four on a single plug. But now the floor temps on all four are different from four to five degrees. By the way Im using 12.5 inches of heat tape for each shelf. I don't know what to do to make it all the same temp or at least a degree difference. Thanks

I dont understand. Is it one strip with one plug or 4 strips each with a plug? Sorry if I'm not getting it. I have my flexwatt all one strip with one plug. If you separate it though people have had issues with different temps. As well as obviously the lower tubs have a couple degree difference from the higher tubs but the hotspot should be the same.

Check your connections. They should all be the exact same temp. The ambient temp, however, will be different because heat rises. I have noticed a four or five degree difference in the ambient temps between the bottoms and top of my racks, but not the floor area.

But you'll find flexwatt pieces while they in theory should be the same rarely are.
Just get them all as close as possible and go with it :)

I have a 4 degree difference on a 7 tub rack. The kicker is that it is 2 in the middle that are the cooler ones.

They aren't going to be the same temp for a simple reason, heat rises, the top shelf is naturally going to be warmer than the bottom shelf and 4-5 degrees isn't surprising. Just make sure your probe is on the top shelf, so you know that one won't get out of control. The top shelf is likely going to be a tad warmer than you like to make up for the temp of the bottom shelf.
