Eating? (bonus hunting pics)
I know this must be the most common new Rhac owner question, but It's hard for me to tell if they are eating there CGD. I know the first day I saw the cresties spend alot of time in there hides, but now they favor there fake leaves nearly everytime I see them.
The gargs have never left there perches to my knowledge, granted I'm not here 24/7 staring at them. But they love there corkwood branches.
The crickets got gobbled up I think but here's my big question. How do you properly portion out crickets in each cage? I got like 5 in one 2 in another 1 in one and 4 in another. Cause I was just trying to shake them out of the bag into the cage.
Anyway I can verify CGD is being eaten? I have been letting them settle down so I haven't checked for poop yet. Not messing with them except to give new CGD yesterday and mist 3 times a day.
Oh also I think I might mist to much. I mean the cage dries out but I only see them drink by licking it up so I mist before work, When I get home (lightly) and before I go to bed.

Any help?
Oh and here's one of my Cresties hunting. This one LOVED crickets. It was instantly out and snapping them up. So cool!

Aww, what a cutie! I know, I love watching mine hunt for crickets, so awesome!! :D
The main way you can tell that they're eating the CGD is by checking for poop, otherwise it's always a guessing game since they eat so little. Sometimes I can tell when I see little splashes and "footprints" on the paper towel leading away from the little dish. I used to worry too, but believe me, unless they're full from crickets, they'll eat it.
As far as portioning the crickets, I guess you could always try doing it beforehand, i.e. emptying them into separate containers, but I'm sure that would get to be a real hassle. Or ask them for separate bags at the store haha I only have one crestie at the moment, but I know it is hard to get the exact amount of crickets in there that you want. Just a hit and miss kind of thing I suppose. Some of the more professional crestie keepers might have better tips ;)
Also, I mist twice a day, but as long as everything has a chance to dry out before you mist again, I'd say three times is fine.
