UTH Temperature controller question

This is regarding the Zilla temperature controller 1000 wat. If anyone has this, can someone explain to me the point of having multiple outlets in the device if it only has one temperature probe? I'm sure there is a point, I'm just not getting it. Because it would be cool if I could plug in my heat lamp as well, but I don't see how it can control more than one temperature, with how its designed.

The idea behind it is that you can run multiple of the same size heat pad from one temperature controller, because they assume that you'll use the same brand for all of them and that they'll have the same heat out put.

To be honest it isn't the most convenient because a lot of company's heat pads run at different temps, even within the same brand and size. The closest I've ever gotten is with Exo Terra heat mats, of the same size. They were within like 2 degrees of each other.

By contrast, however, I used two zilla heat mats, same size, bought at the same time, and they were a good 10 to 15 degrees apart on their own. I highly doubt you would be able to successfully run a heat mat and a heat lamp from one control with the right outcome.

It's set up that way to control multiple, identically set up enclosures. Same sized tub, same sized heat pad. Like a rack system - since everything is identical, only one of the heat pads needs to be probed.

I would not recommend using it in the manner that you'd like to. Two different types of heating elements requires two different thermostats.
