Anyone use Hobabator for incubating BP eggs?
I have one that i have used with my beardies...how many BP eggs have you been able to fit in one?

I didn't have my incubator set up soon enough so a friend of mine loaned me a hovabator and I gotta say I'm impressed. I set it an it has held temps perfectly and humidity is staying at 99%. I have 8 eggs in it now and if the eggs were similar in size to those I would guess I could fit around 20. But again that's assuming they are the same size as my current eggs.

Sure. They work. There is alot out there as far as incubators go though.
A digital thermostat would be a definate upgrade.

thank you. I'm actually just preparing for next season now...but i have a full year to get it down. How difficult/dangerous is it to separate stuck eggs in order to maximize the amount i can get in there?

I have a friend who used a hovabator with an eight egg clutch. But it's really only good for one clutch--if you're doing more clutches, better go with a DIY incubator made from a cooler.

I gather it's pretty risky separating eggs. If you really must do it, use dental floss?

all good points. I guess i'll keep an eye out for a wine cooler or something and build one this year. If my beardies lay while i have a python clutch in there i'll be screwed anyway...
