I hate injections

I have to start injections on my young male blood and i hate doing it. He moves around so much its hard to get him to pause long enough to give the injection. My wife won't help she think shes going to get tagged. Any thoughts that can make this easier?

Try to find a tube that is the right size to slide his head and neck into, like the tube at the end of a roll of paper towels might be the right size for you. Also work on a smooth surface and don’t allow him to get his tail wrapped around anything, like the end of the table top. If he can get traction/leverage it will make giving the injection very difficult. He will still be able to jerk but not near as much.
Also wear old clothes as he may decide to musk you.

Midwest Tongs sells restraining tubes. I wouldn't perform injections without one.

They have a wide variety of uses, one benefit to having them is that it also makes popping bitey snakes much simpler!

I never had to give a blood any injections thankfully and I can't imagine it is very much fun. Sorry I can't give you any good tips but I did want to say good luck with everything!!

Ive given tons of shots and anyone who says theyve never had a sick blood is full of crap.

A bath towel works best for me

Also try and get it over with as quickly as possible as the more you tinker with em, the more awake they become and pissed off they get haha

Get the wife some thick gloves or oven mitts and tell her to man up. :P

Thanks for the help I was thinking of something like a tube, but didn't know if it was a good idea. Wife doesn't even want me to have them anymore, and I'd like another blood or a ball morph.

Heard about tubes working great. I just hold and give and if a blood is sick 90% chance it won,t bite they do not want to open mouth and anybody that has many bloods reds in particular one time or another it will dip in temp or to much humidity it happens quick. I was bitten three times and now they all like rats better lol that might help the wife and hand sainitizer they hate the smell .misted the spell check, but best advise it works great for me.:D

Really? What makes them sick/what are you injecting?

Why do so many of them get sick?

(I've only ever had one ball need an injection, and she didn't really NEED it--it was a vitamin B (?)(I think--I forget) shot to boost appetite.)

Stress is usually the culprit. Stress can be brought about by many factors. During breeding season with the lowered temps. and the stress of breeding there is a possibility of RI. Along with that there is the possibility of gorgeous babies.
A Vet. check and a culture/sensitivity test are always recommended when an RI is suspected.
