    zoo med UTH questions
I have noticed even when I set my thermostat as high as 15 degrees my zoo med heater only gets the temp on the ground in my bp's hot side 89 degrees. I just looked up the zoo med uth and it says is only gets the uth 20 degrees over the room temperature. Has anyone else experienced this?

No, I keep my house at about 68* and before I got my dimmer and temp gun for the zoo med UTH the bottom of the tank under the substrate was over 130*.....what kind of substrate are you using? How are you measuring the temps?

If you have an ultratherm UTH then I can see, but all of the zoo-med ones I ever checked would go up to 130ish which is obviously too hot.

Just a regular one.My house has been at about 65.I use a tempgun to chec my temps. It is a laser pointer. TG1 . I have a thic sustrate of coco shavings(?) and ecoearth.Alot ofsnaeeepers use this to keep humidity up where we live. It is pretty cold here at night still in the 30's low 40's I live on the water so it stays cooler.

Okay are you measuring under the substrate too? because 89 above the substrate is fine, but I bet it is much much hotter on the bare bottom.

No I am checking under also. I raised the temp in the room to see if that helps. I lowering them lately. I am going to see if it is warmer in the room I will chec every 15 minutes see if it helps.
