I prefer to use something non- porous that won't trap smell, bacteria and can be cleaned much easier.

What you want to use will harbor odor and bacteria. You can use some type of plastic bowl or go to the Reptile Basics website and get some pretty nice hides at a very reasonable price. I use the hides from Reptile Basics and my snake loves them.

I also use the Reptile Basics hides and I love them as well as my snakes. One thing I would change is make the small hides bigger or make another size in between small and medium. For that I use Clif bar boxes and change them out if they become soiled on.

I wouldn't use it. It will fall apart and it's so light the snake will move it all over the place. If you are just looking for something small and cheap. Look for a small plastic container that you can put food in, not a clear one, I'm talking more of like a small butter container. I use plastic flower pots and they are super cheap if you get the at the right time of year. I got all of mine for 15 cents a piece. Buying them during the summer season they are still only $1 for the small ones.
