Getting this new Normal with a Het, ID pls
Owner says it may be a Het Calico but frankly I don't care, she looks gorgeous and I am getting her otherwise to replace my missing Sssophie :( She is turning two years old this june and about 1.3 kg

What do you think of her? Can anyone see if she is a het for something? :).

When I first saw her, I could tell she wasnt the norma color, even looking army green sometimes.

In all reality you can't really definitely tell if any normal is het for anything. If you think she is prove it out.
From what I know though unless I'm mistaken Calicos are a dom gene possibly co Dom. So it either is calico or it isn't.

There is no such thing as a het calico. Calico is a Dom/codom gene. So it's most likely just a normal if they don't know which genes can even be het.

It's very much a normal color. That looks like the average wild-type color and pattern of a normal BP. She's pretty tho. If you get her do be sure to double check the sex because anyone who doesn't know if their BP is a color morph or het for one, most likely doesn't know the sex of it either.

Well, just goes to show that even some experts here are in-experience.

Non the less, he is selling it to me at a normal price. Well, normal for where we are. Normal hatchling BPs cause about 100 USD here. So this here is about 250. Ouch huh? That is why I am very excited to get more and more as I slowly educate myself also and hopefully be responsible for regularizing and popularizing these BP's here in the Philippines :-)

$ 100 for a hatchling bp? I guess it's because of the fact of where you are. I can get normal males for $15 and females for $20. That just seems like you are getting a bad deal. And I agree, make sure that it is a female.

That's higher than pet store prices. I wouldn't necessarily call that a hatching either.

Yup those are hatchling prices here in Cebu, so sad. Corn snakes go for about 100-120 usd as hatchlings also. Terrible really. I would import from the US but the cost is too high, $1500 for the freight (1-40+ snakes same cost) and minimum of 2500 usd worth of snakes also :( I have to gather about 10-15 people for it to be fair and worth it. :(

So if any of your are coming here to visit, please bring one with you and i would be happy to buy it :)

    Hi,

Definately a normal as "het calico" doesn't exist as has already been said.

I also agree on double checking the sex.

But, as he is selling it for the price of a normal, and you are happy to buy it as a normal I don't see any reason not to get it. :)

I don't think it's a bad deal. A hatchling normal female is about $20 here, and a breedable normal female is $100-$200 depending on the size.
