    sizes to start breeding male bp
    i have a 7 month old pastel male that you can see in my profile just wondering if i could get him to breed or should i wait another yr or 2 thanks for looking.

    Sounds old enough but what's his current weight? That matters most when breeding bps.

    im not sure needing to get a scale for them he was a little small when i got him going to up his mouse size tomorrow see if he can handle it last week he ate a weined mouse and had no problem going to maybe go up to the next size just depending on the size of them when i go get it tomorrow.

    Well it has been a toss up over the years but a common weight would be above 600ish gram mark. a scale is a good idea if breeding is in your future.

    A male can possibly breed at 400+ grams but most wont. I like a beefy male above around 650 grams because some will stop feeding once they start breeding and that extra weight can carry them through a breeding season if it needs to.:)
