Incubation question

This might be a dumb question but I need to ask someone...
Ok so i think im going to buy the "Reptibator" by zoo med for my BPs until I build my own or get a larger one in the next 2 years.
Ok so my question is...
The reptibator has grooves cut into the bottom for water, then a foam sheet that goes over it for humidity. Then the cover of the incubator has the heat coils mounted in the lid. When i put my plastic container of eggs and vermiculite in the incubator do i put a lid on the container of eggs? I mean the eggs shouldn't dry out without a lid if there's a water tray in the incubator for humidity, right? Isn't that the point? But all the videos i see on setting up eggs for icubation it shows the egg box with a cover then people say "now its ready for your incubator"
I may have turned this into a much longer thread than needed but ya I hope I havnt confused anyone :)

I would say you only need to do one or the other. Either use the egg tub with the lid covering it or use the water in the bottom of the incubator and no lid. I have never used a reptibator, but I personally use an egg tub w/ vermiculite & water as the medium and place a lid over that. This method seems to be pretty widely tested and accepted. Maybe someone else has used the reptibator and can be more helpful? Good luck!

Well it kind of goes with most incubators i think?
I just thought whats the point of having humidity in the incubator itself if the egg box is covered...you know, what is the point? I would think the egg box could be uncovered in an incubator like the reptibator. But again...that is my question :)

Both ways are highly excepted. Some people use tubs with lids and no holes. Some use water and heat with just tubs. I personally use tubs with lids and just have a couple holes so I don't get any condensation.
