Another breeding question(sorry!) *first time breeder alert*
Ok heres the deal. About two or three weeks ago my 1800g female pastel was always on her cool side and in/or wrapped around her water bowl. im pretty sure she was developing but i tired palpating(spelling) but i didnt feel anything. However ive never done it before so i probably did it wrong. then she went into shed(pre ov shed?) And she refused food when i offered it to her. Is that normal when tthen started locking with my male. hey develop follicles? From there ive witnessed them lock up 9 times. As of a couple of days ago the female started staying on her warm side and thats where i found her again this morning. last night i offered her a rat and again she refused. Could she be ovulating? if so when will she start eating again? if so when should i expect eggs? As ive said im new and i just want to make sure everything is ok. any info or tips will be helpful!
Re: Another breeding question(sorry!) *first time breeder alert*
sounds like she may have already ovulated and the shed may have been the post ovulation shed (pre lay shed). If that is the case you can expect eggs in 30 days or so. From what I hear females will stop eating before ovulation and will not eat untill they lay but others will eat up till they lay. Usually gravid females will seek out the hot spot. Either way it sounds like good things to come.
