Tub questions

I'm about to buy a 1200 gram ball python, and I just bought a 30 qt tub for him. Is the size good enough, or should it be bigger/smaller?

I also noticed that if I have 2 hides in the tub, he gets very little space outside the hides (what I mean is that the hides covers much of the space). Could I have only 1 hide on the warm side, so he can have some space to move on the cool side?

The tub size is adequate and you answered your own question on the hide.
None of my adults have hides at all in their tubs, if you want him to have a hide one hide is just fine on the warm side.

My girl is in her tub and has been in it for a few days now, and she loves hiding under the newspaper over being in her hid. Looks like I might go and return it today.
