best places for info on super dwarf retics
I'm very curious about dwarf and super dwarf retics but I don't know what information to trust that I find online. Where are the best places to gather accurate information on size and exactly what makes it a super dwarf? Also if I were to decide to, in the future, buy one of these animals who can I trust to sell me a super dwarf that isn't going to inexplicably grow into a monster?

    Thanks everyone!

hey man. i just signed up specifically to answer this question so please heed my advice.

if you need ANY info on retics whatsoever, you need to check out the retic nation. it's exactly like this page except (you guessed it) it's all about retics, morphs, localities, and everything you need to know about them to safely keep them. the breeders there are not commercial breeders so no ones trying to scam anyone to make a quick buck, they're all hobbyists like you and i. you should check it out.

I wouldn't always trust even retic nation. There are some on that site, that care for the animals and more of those that don't. I would try monstersnakesforums.com. Harry is great, along with everyone else, and its all about retics, thats all harry really deals with.

Also, check out Constrictors.com...Filter out all the drama of the forums and you'll find some great information on them...Between those 3 forums you will find many that love retics, but somehow it turns into arguments and people getting banned here and there...Wisteria Lane of the retic-world..

However, Greg Bryant of the Retic Ranch is a trusted breeder across all 3 forums...He deals with SD's and you can trust what he sells...He also doesn't get involved in the drama either...I have numerous from him...I've had many SD's over the years (all from reputable breeders) and currently still have a sexy female from the 2003 import from Canada that I love...She's spunky but sexy none the less...They will be a bit more active and flighty than mainland or dwarf retics...

    Hope that helps...

Last time I measured, she was right around 8'ish...Kind of hard to get an accurate measurement cause she's so squirmy...Never bit, just very active...

Greg Bryant is who I got my male from and he's TINY!!

At approximately 5-6 years of age, he's still under 6 feet and no thicker than a black rat snake.

They are very flighty though. Like handling a live whip. Once you have them out, it takes patience and knowledge on how to get the SD retics to calm down and just relax with you. They are very cool to have once you have them figured out :)

x2 LOL Well said, "live whip" especially when putting them back into their tub, sometimes that tail will just smack you just right. Do your research, purchase from a reputable breeder, be prepared as best as you can for what you're in for and you'll love and respect them. My girl is flighty but sweet, others liked to musk/poo/pee and one was a biter. Just like kids they all have different personalities, but you love them for the most part...LOL
