    morel mushrooms...... its that time of year
    just thought i'd toss it out there. i was in bristol virginia last week for work and had a lil downtime so i found a nice spot to do some hiking/mushroom hunting/field herping. i found a dozen black morels in about an hour, but decided to cut the trip short after coming across a couple fresh piles of bear scat.

    im now back in ohio, i figure we have about another week before they really start coming up here. anyone else looking????

    Just last weekend we started finding them good in southern Missouri so they should be heading your way.

    As a chef I love to cook with all different things. Mushrooms are not my favorite, but Morels are great in sauces. I don't think they grow wild in Colorado, might be to dry here for them. But then again, I've never checked.
