    Clown/het clown females growth question
Is it true that clown or het clown females grows slowly and reach maturity later then for example normals? I heared that clown gene influence on the feeding schedule in cause of problems with feeding and so on.

Does anybody know sth about this?

I'll be pleased if you guys can post here the weight correlate with the age of clown/het cown females? Any pics will be appreciated ;)

I'm not sure but I know my clown female is one of my problem eaters. She'll eat once every two feeding cycles if I'm lucky. Only female clown I have so I can't really say though..

My het female clown is one of my best eaters. She has put weight on faster than my 2 male het clowns.

I have a Pastel het Clown female who eats every week, never misses a meal unless in deep shed. She's 500 grams and growing nicely.

My clowns and hets are some of my best feeders and I've heard the same from others. However, I only have 7 clowns/hets so that's not a great sample.

I have a het clown girl, only eats every two weeks. Sometimes three. My male pastel het clown is a pig. I also have a pastel PH clown that eats great.

So it is possible that I was mistaken with this info. Based on your posts it seems that they have usual habits and the clown gene is not linked with food refusal.

bought 2 hets and 1 visual (08 females) at the same time
all were roughly the same weight when purchased (350-400gr)

hets are now 1200gr and 1600gr
    visual is 2400gr+

thought it was supposed to be the other way round!

My boy is about 2100 grams and 10 years old so maybe not the best example but he's a glutton and would eat twice a week if I allowed him to.

I bought a het female at 800 grams late in 2009 and bred her at 1500 grams by early 2010. The het females I held back have grown faster than my other morphs. The only female who has grown as quickly for me as my het clowns is a lesser girl who is 50% het clown(hoping her appetite comes from the clown gene:)) My male clown who I purchased from Dave Green^ is by far my best eater and a breeding machine(thanks Dave). Everyone I have chatted with about clowns has commented on how they are thier best eaters
