Lighting/Hidebox Concern

Hi, everyone, I just got my BP a few days ago for my b-day. I've invested alot of money so that my husbandry is on par, as far as temperature, humidity, etc...is concerned. My one main concern however is lighting. I have a night shift job, so I use black out curtains, so other than whenever I have my lights on, its dark in my room. I don't want to mess up my BP's biorhythms, so what can I do to make sure he's getting a consistent amount of light. I bought a red light, black, and a regular basking one, even though I know they don't bask. If I leave my lights on for too long, they drain the humidity and raise the temperature. So am I too concerned about lighting, and should I just provide whatever amount of light I can, regardless if its inconsistent, or what should I do?

Final question, I bought a pretty big water dish for him, to do whatever in, but there isn't enough room to put another hide box. I know its not preferential, but he seems to stay on the warm side in his hide box anyways. I've only seem him come out once and that was in an attempt to get out of the cage.

As far as the light goes, I don't think it really matters. In the wild they're in termite mounds or rodent burrows, so it's dark anyway and they're nocturnal. The water bowl can be smaller, they usually don't soak. Get an identical hide for the cool side as well. Don't make the snake choose between security and comfort.

I went ahead and bought a smaller dish, and another hide. It's not identical for space issues, but I did my best to make it look just as secure and private as the other one.
