One that I use is called a indoor/outdoor acu-rite thermo hygrometer. It has a probe that you can put one one side of the cage and you put the main part on the otherside. And it will give you a gradient temp and humidity from one side to the other, and the best part is there about 13 bucks at walmart. They work pretty well and are accurate. I found it in the home garden section, but if you cant find it just ask someone

They all suck, put 2x AcuRite right next to each other and they show different readings. Air does not evenly distribute moisture, your better off just observing the characteristics of the cage.

The little round brass dial (analogue) ones used for humidors (I like the western instruments one) is actually quite accurate (+/-3% or so) and can be calibrated if it is found to be wrong when tested (salt test). I paid about 10$ for mine. I have found accurites to be within their specs I just don't this +/-2ºF to be accurate. The humidity readings of them (I have tested 2 now) to be poor. (+/-8%) I understand others have different standards than I do.
