    Dwarf retic question
Ok, so i really love retics and know many people who have them but they're way too big for me. i really want a dwarf retic but the cheapest i could find was from prehistoric pets it was 500$. i dont have that money to spend on it. anyone no someone who breeds normal dwarf, not superdwarf retics?

umm, not gonna flame you here but if you cant afford the quality your gonna pay for it down the line. if i where you id save up the money and get a good specimen from someone who knows there stuff, what % dwarf where you lookin for? as even "pure" dwarfs still get between 10-14ft some even reaching 15 if im not mistaken.

heres a suggestion, if morph and price are really that big of a factor maby talk to a breeder such as monstersnakes or prehistoric (pretty much any REPUTABLE breeder and simply explain that your looking for a smaller retic and ask if they have anything that was breed from two smaller adults.) i have a male tiger (one of the bigger morphs out there) who is only going to be around 10-13 feet, because of *save rant i know what im doing* controlled feeding and actually talking to the breeder and getting one from smaller parents

Talk to Greg Bryant at the Retic Ranch, he has top notch dwarves that aren't as expensive as Prehistoric. His site doesn't show everything he has, so email or call him. If he doesn't have any available I'm sure he can point you in the right direction, he is a very nice guy.

FYI: I think norm dwarfs start around 300-350 and tigers are 400-450

Heres a norm female dwarf for $300 http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=94&de=768360

Also, dwarves still can get big. If you are really concerned about size get a male.

    Quality
I can afford quality i just don't want a special morph. i do plenty of very expensive animals but i always start with a normal and if i like the species i put more money into it. And yes im aware they still get big. I can handle big but i cant handle 25+ ft.

Most retics average for females anywhere from 12-17 ft, and males average 10-16, It is rare to get any snake over 20 foot much less 25. Yes they are out there, however there is an average. Not trying to burn you or nothing but based on what I just wrote, and what you said above don't match up. If you don't want big then you should look at the super dwarves not the dwarf or mainland.

I've been away for a bit...And I love the Dwarf Retics and most of my collection was made up of them...But do the research, invest with a quality/reputable breeder and make sure you have your research done...Dwarf does not equal small sized...I had one dwarf tiger that was a solid 15', my Dwarf Lavender is right at 12' at 3 years, my SD's are around 8'...There are many others that I had too...Quality stock = Quality breeding

and YES, Greg Bryant is a TOP QUALITY BREEDER and GUY!! Great retics, great prices and great customer service...There are many others out there too, but he's the one I'd point you too...

Most dwarf male retics are going to stay under ten feet. You also have to remember that retics don't develop that same girth that burms do. So, even a 14 foot retic is much easier to manage than a 14' burm weight wise.
