    Bad shed
    Hi all

I am pretty sure this would have come up before but the search feature has failed me, anyway I will get to the point, my bp shed last night but it did not come off in one piece and he stilll has some stuck on his head and eye. How do I get it off?

    Thanks

Hey there, whenever I one of BP's has a bad shed I soak them in 80 degree water (which should feel cool to you, you can use a IR thermometer to measure the temp such as www.tempgun.com) and mix in a little bit of Shed Ease (http://www.amazon.com/Shed-Ease-Cond.../dp/B000OQUR6C, also available at most Petcos) and let them soak for about 20min (always supervised). The skin should pretty much fall off. Just don't mess with the eye caps, the soak should loosen them up enough for your BP to get off on his own.
Worst case scenario if the eye caps don't end up coming off just leave them alone and try to maintain at least 50% humidity in your BP's enclosure until the next shed, that way next time everything should come off in one piece. Having one set of retained eye caps until then won't hurt anything.
