Trying to Choose a Good Incubator
Ok, I'm trying to figure out which incubator to purchase for my future breeding of my balls.
Im planning on getting at least 3 females to my male pied so for the season they will actually be ready Ill need one to be big enough for at least 3 clutches. Not to mention these are all '10 babies so by the time I actually get to breed them Ill probably have more morphs. :) So Im trying to plan for the incubator to get.
I would love to stay under $1,000 for one, does anyone have any you would reccomend to me?
I was looking into the "Reptibator" by zoo med, its a cheap way to go, seems like a pretty simple construction, looks like I could fit maybe two clutches in it.
At $116 each I could buy two and maybe do ok with fitting a few pairs clutches in it....just a thought. I do like the incubators that regulate humidtiy though too...:) Anyways, if anyone has one you would reccomend because you are happy with it...let me know? pros, cons, just need any suggestions.
    Very appreciated.

I would HIGHLY recommend building your own incubator. The best way to go about it is converting a cooler/refrigerator/freezer. It also can be a fun project. I made mine out of an old Red Bull Fridge (http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ull-Incubator!)

If you don't want to build one and are looking for something you can grow into that is very accurate and looks good check out the AP Incubator.

I know the guy who sells them (Casey),and he is a great guy to deal with! Everyone that I have heard of that has one, really likes it. I built mine out of a Pepsi fridge! Cost very little to convert into an incubator.

Lots of choices and a lot depends on if you want to buy a pre-built model or build one.

I've just got this one up and running, still fine tuning it and have yet to get the water bottles for it but it's humming along at close to proper temps and within 2 degrees top to bottom.
The water bottles will help stabilize it once they are in place.

True cooler off of craigslist for ~ $200
    heat tape ~ $25
    thermostat ~ $140.00
    tubs ~ $2.50 X up to 18 tubs
    Bathroom ceiling fan ~ $18

For under $450 I can incubate up to 24 tubs :)

Everyone on here usually builds there own.
There's a lot of DIY guides and vids on youtube also.
And with a grand as a budget you can deffinately build a good size nd quality one.

You can buy a Whynter WC28S for pretty cheap used. This wine cooler is therm-electric, so you don't have a compressor to deal with, and it has the full space available inside. You can also keep the installed fan, light and thermometer and just unplug the chiller and rear fan. I'll have pictures of mine posted soon.
