    can't find hatchling food
i have been looking around and going to many places around the area to find live mice or rats to feed to the clutch i am expecting soon. everywhere i went or spoke to doesnt have pinkies or fuzzies or anything appropriate for a hatchling. i was going to order frozen but in another thread the majority said its best to start off live and get them feeding. so i am asking you guys who are in the Springfield, MA Hartford, CT area if you know a place or someone who sells young feeders.

Might try starting your own colonies really quick. See if there is a mouse/rat breeder in your area and maybe set something up to get some pregos or have pinkies lined up.
    Wish I could help more.

I've had babies start just fine in Juvi mice.. hatching ball pythons will eat a bigger meal than what you think they can. I've even had some bigger hatchings start on adult mice.

i tried to find breeders locally but no luck yet. i want to start my own colony soon but we are moving into a house soon and i really dont need that added to the chaos. i guess if i dont find something i can try juvi mice. but they will be more expensive cuz most stores sell them as pets. oh well, gotta do what i gotta do. thanks guys

I'm you decided to start a breed project in order to feed the hatchlings I've had good results starting off my hatchlings on newborn to week old pink rats.

Generally you can special order them from any Petstore. You might have to buy the whole litter and mom... But that wouldn't be so bad. At the same time I've found very small mice at Petstores. Before I found my private breeder, I had to do special orders from my local Petshop. They were very accommodating I just had to wait until they got their order which was 1x a week.

How close are you to Plaistow, NH? You could buy from NERD at their petstore, Zoo Creatures.

All we really have around here is petco and petsmart. No reptile or specialty stores so I may have to special order.
I've been to NERD once and its about a 2 hour drive. If I really had to do that once a week it wouldn't be terrible but definately not as convenient as frozen. Guess I just gotta hurry and get my house and start my own colony. I should prolly start studying the general feeders section. Thanks everyone

Eggs should be here in a couple weeks and I finally found live feeders locally.2 dollars for a hopper mouse but I gotta do what I gotta do to feed the wee ones. The only problem now is we are moving into our new house about the time she's due to lay. I hope she can hold out until I get her setup in the house
