Opinions? Sable or Normal, Fire or Light Normal?

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, have been visiting the forum for a while and finally registered. I would love some opinions on some of my BP's. I am still new to all the morphs and have not seen many in person, only on the web. If anyone could help me that would be great!

First I have a very dark male normal. Scar gets darker and darker with every shed. I thought he could be a sable from pics I've seen, he has the black belly, and "sheen", but mostly hes alot darker than my dark normal girl :) No, we did not give him those scars, came that way we we got him.
Sable? Normal? or Other?

Second I have a very light normal female. Lizzie was purchased from Glass Reptiles as a 1700g virgin. He said she might be a fire but I have no background on her. She is now a 3000g monster and is going into her pre-lay shed. I would love some feedback on her color, she has gotten brighter and flames are more pronounced. First pic taken 2-1-11, second taken by Glass Reptiles around 11-1-09. Hoping shes a fire but I know there are alot of weird morphs that kinda look like light normals and there are also just good lookin normals out there.
Fire? Light Normal? or Other?

They look like two really nice normal wild type ball pythons to me! The second snake has really nice blushing for a normal but I don't see fire. Normal ball pythons can vary a lot.

First Normal.. I Like reddish hue on it. :gj::gj::gj:

Second.. I'll have doubt as well... She Look's Fire-ish.. but Only Breeding will tel... Fire Males are not that expansive... Find one and check if She Prove.. If Not She is so light that Fire babies gonna be Outstanding !!!

Honestly, there is a 98% probability that both are normals (personally, I only see two normals). However, if you really think that you have morphs all you can do is breed them to prove them out. Otherwise, they are normals.

The first one looks to be a normal I don't see sable at all. The second one has a very small chance of being a fire. Get a male fire for less then $200 and breed them if you get black eyed lucy's there's your answer.

Thanks for the input everyone. Well, maybe I was just wishing too hard with the male :oops: "She" already turned into a "he". I'm not sure if I will try and prove him.... The female is gravid from a fire or butter :P She is due in about a month so we will see if she pops out anything white or different looking. I have many breeding plans for her in the future. I thought the same thing, worst case I get some killer holdback fires or butters:D!

Both normals, the first one looks like a dark normal and the second one looks nothing like a fire IMO but is a beautiful snake :gj:

Well its been a little over a year, thought it was time for an update! The dark male was sold as a pet, really didn't feel like dinkin with him. The light female ended up going with a butter last year. We are now thinking she may be het super stripe?
2011 she had:

2.1 Butters
2.3 "Normals"

One male butter sadly passed just a few days after hatching. The two males had a "look" to them, or perhaps they were just nice examples of butters, the female looked like a normal butter to us. Most of the normal babies came out looking like mom with similar markers. (orange/yellow sides, keyhole pattern, zipper bellies, flames, and deep black saturation)

We held back the ones that had the look, 1.0 butter & 1.2 Normals. We are hoping the butter may have the gene as well. He was paired with several normal females this year and his first clutch just hatched today 4/29/12.

The thing is, the butters look very nice and the normals have the same characteristics their fathers siblings had. Not sure if its actually reproducing something or passing on mom/dad genes like everything does. We do know the specter (spector)/het super stripe combos don't have alot of pizazz. ie pastel specter, butter specter, ect. They just look a bit prettier until the YB does its magic!

The light female was paired with nothing but a YB this year and she is just going into her pre-lay shed. We will cross our fingers, maybe she will throw some super stripes!
