how long to leave mouse in

just wondering how long can i leave a F/t mouse in my bps tub? can i leave it over night? 30 mins? i dont know when to remove the mouse if my snake has not eatin it..

I'd say if your snake doesn't eat it within 20 mins, he's probably not gonna eat it....I wouldn't leave it in there all night.

You can leave it in overnight. just place it about 2-3 inches in front of their hide and make the room dark. My bp occassionally won't eat at feeding time, but will eat sometime during the night. Just make sure that you dispose of the prey if it is still there the next morning. If you don't see it the next morning, make sure you check around the enclosure to make sure it didn't get dragged into a hide or covered with substrate, or you will smell it later.

I routinely leave f/t rats in overnight. Usually they eat them within a few hours, but sometimes they like to wait. Occasionally if a picky eater hasn't eaten within 2-3 hours, I'll throw it in for another one to eat as in my experience after a few hours, they aren't going to eat. You probably don't want to leave it in much longer than the next morning, they do start to stink...

Hi Ergo,

It's been suggested to me if the Python isn't eating then to leave the mouse in the terrarium over-night. Thus you probably needn't worry about the duration the food is in the tank for your reptile. However I would remove the mouse in the morning if your snake hasn't eaten the rodent, then try to feed he or she again after a few days.
