Boa Breeding Question?

When breeding your boas, how long do you cycle the heat before putting them together? Also how long do you leave the heat off in a day? This will be my first attempt at breeding and right now I have the heat on a timer for 12 hours on and 12 hours off. And am going to cycle the heat for 3 weeks then put together. What does everyone else do?
