    Aspen swallowed/ stuck in mouth
I just switched over to aspen bedding because the humidity inside my tubs was too high with even slightly damp cypress. I completed my first feeding off the aspen. My 400 gram mojave male swallowed quite a bit for sure. When I observed his last "yawn", I saw there was some still left in the mouth.
As far as internal issues from the swallowed aspen, or the aspen left in the mouth, what can I expect from this? Possible mouth rot? Impaction?
    Thanks for any answers!

i have never heard of a bp suffering from impaction from aspen and wont worry about that part, but mouth rot can be possible if a piece of aspen is stuck in his mouth for long time. leave him alone and in a couple of days if you still see the aspen stuck i would suggest to try to remove it.

Yes they will just poop out the Aspen. One or two peices in the Tummy doesn't hurt. But I would definatly get the peice of Aspen out of his mouth asap. The longer it sits in there the more if an issue it could make getting it out. When I see Aspen in their mouth I wait till morning so they don't regurge and grab it out. You may need someone to help you bc its not a fin process. I've had this happen when I didn't grab out the water bowl before feeding and one of my females grabbed the rat and killed it in the water bowl and dragged it all over the cage.
