    Brought home another one..
(For those who saw my thread about it's white patch, turns out it was stuck shed that turned white from sand dust lol)

    Very typical looking normal.
Sex unknown, I'll check in a week.
Was told it's approx. 4yrs old but I quickly weighed it, only 363g.. It's seriously the exact same size as my underweight 23mo. old normal and barely 30g heavier. So Idk about age..
Picked it up and here was the tank setup:
In bedroom with ceiling fan on
    screen top 4ft tank,
    nothing covering screen,
thin layer of very fine sand,
    Water dish,
heat pad for a 30-40g tank,
one half log hide on cold side,
    one branch,
    no hygro/thermometers whatsoever.
It smelled disgusting and the bp looked like a hypo with the amount of sand dust it had covering it.

So, in my opinion, it was well worth the drive to take the poor snake home, and I really do appreciate a nice "normal" bp.
Quarantine has begun in a new, clean Sterilite tub, and I'll help remove the stuck shed after letting it settle in. It's scared half to death, already struck at me once, but I don't blame him/her.. I'm scary ;)

Successful trip down the coast of SoCal!

Still a bit dusty, tried to whipe as much off as I could without stressing it out more. A nice warm bath next week will help a TON.

    He/she will look 100% better after a bath :)

It really just amazes me that people can purchase a pet without researching how to properly care for them..
I forgot to add, I got this one from a father selling it and the entire enclosure for $20 because his two daughters (maybe 15-16y.o.) got tired of caring for it... obviously -_-
After I got to the house, he told me they had another BP before this one that the daughters were very attached to but it died. So they bought another and neglected it. I asked what the other had died from, he said he thinks mites.. My bet, if not disease or parasite, would be RI considering the conditions this one was in. So I'm being extra careful with QT since their first BP died.
And, I have to try to switch it back to f/t since it's been eating live, because the dad tells me, "the frozen mice grossed me out."

Nice! The distances we'll drive for these snakes huh? I've done my fair share of driving up north to pick up some snakes. I'm from very far down south in Chula Vista, about 5 minutes from the border. Was this rescue a Craigslist pickup?

Lol seriously, 4hrs of mostly traffic and driving the entire way back with the heater on high in the car "so the snake was comfier".. Sometimes I think I'm just crazy
And yes, this was a Craigslist pickup.. I really need to delete the CL app from my phone.. It's killing me.
