HELP!! Will this hurt my red tail boa?
My house has eciently been infested with little black ants. I have been using grants all over the house and it is doing ok. But I noticed a couple in my red tails home I got them out but i am worried will they hurt him? What can i do to keep them out? They are not bugging any of my other snakes. I dont know what to do. He has been a hard to feed snake since i got him and am worried that may be causing some of our problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am using coconut husk for bedding if that makes a difference. Thank you Nanna

Sorry to hear about the infestation. Personally I would go to newspaper or paper towel if the ants are getting into the enclosure. They might be attracted to the moisture and the naturalistic substrate. Either way I think using newspaper or paper towel would make it easier to get the ants out.

I've used Provent-A-Mite before to kill some ants.

I agree with Vypyrz, I'm sure PAM would keep the ants out of the cages. And if it ever gets completely out of control, you can always keep your boas at a friend's house for a week or so and have the exterminators spray down your house.
