RTB prices.

I recently bought a BP and love it. I have been searching craigs list, as I'm hooked on snakes already.

It's $80/plus cage.

Good deal or not and what does it cost to feed per month. Don't want to get it if I can't care for it!

It all depends on exactly what kind of RTB it is. For that price, I'm guessing it is either:

a) A young columbian RTB that will eventually reach somewhere between 7-11ft, depending on if it is a M or F. At those sizes, they would be eating jumbo rats or rabbits every 14-21 days.

b) a young Nicaraguan RTB that will eventually reach a size of 5-7ft, depending on sex, and full grown would be eating small-medium rats every 14 days.

Something else to consider before getting into boas, esecially the larger sub-species, is future caging requirements. Think about whether you will have the time, money, and space to invest in building your own enclosure or buying a commercially produced one...

I travel a lot and my wife loves our BP(Jack), but cannot expect her to take care of a bigger snake.

P.S. she absolutely hated snakes before, but loves Jack!!!

I have cared for snakes all my life. As a small child in Canada, I would hunt and keep Garter snakes all the time.

They band pythons, boas and all exotic snakes, so I never had the opportunity to own one of the ones I always wanted.

Now, being in Oklahoma, my dream has come true. I love snakes and always wanted an exotic. Now I have one and my wife is getting nervous about what I have always wanted to do LOL She agreed to a small one and now I have to work on her for another LOL

Don't let the size scare you away from boas. There are many sub-species that stay in the 5-7ft range and aren't much bigger than a full grown BP. They just require a little more research for you to make the best decision on which one is right for you. For example, both of mine will max out around 5-6ft, which is why I chose them. If you decide to do some more research, I can provide a few links to help out...
